Q1: Are the Alpha, Hexa and Delta available in my country?

Q2: What is the expected lifetime of the Alpha, Hexa?

A: The Alpha, Hexa have been designed for the specific operating conditions of construction and industrial job sites. The combination of the software management system, temperature and humidity controls give Masspoint BESS a lifetime of ten years or more.

Q3: Are there any limitations on when I can use my Alpha or Hexa?

A: Both Alpha and the Hexa can run 24 hours a day for 365 days a year. It is designed for the busiest construction and industrial job sites in the world.

Q1: How to design a battery energy storage system?

A:
1. Define Application & Goals: Backup duration? Peak shaving? Energy arbitrage? Renewable integration?
2. Analyze Load Profile: Understand energy (kWh) and power (kW) requirements over time.
3. Size the System:
1)Energy Capacity (kWh): Determines how much energy can be stored/discharged. Based on required backup duration or daily cycling needs
2)Power Rating (kW): Determines how fast energy can be delivered/absorbed. Based on peak load demand or grid service requirements.
3)Safety & Compliance: Ensure design meets all local electrical codes, fire safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Q2: How do I charge the BESS?

A: The BESS has been designed to accept any input power source. Most BSSS powered projects use a small feed from a temporary power connection provided by your utility. If you do not have any power available then it is possible to use a small diesel generator and still achieve significant carbon and cost savings compared to a diesel generator attached directly to the equipment.

Q3: How long does it take to install the BESS?

A: Installation consists mostly of placing the unit and connecting cables. This can be done in around an hour or two. Since the BESS is mobile, it can be moved around your site during construction. You can use a tower crane, mobile crane or crane truck.

Q4: What kind of batteries do you use?

A: The Masspoint BESS uses LiFePO₄ batteries.

Q5: What maintenance does the BESS need?

›⌄

A: The BESS has very few moving parts so maintenance is much simpler than a diesel generator. At a minimum, and included in our maintenance plan, we recommend a maintenance check every 6 months. The BESS is also internet connected so our team monitors the performance of the unit in realtime and can flag any unusual behaviour before it affects the operation of the unit.
